PEPPER FIGHTS OFF TEA BAG

The pepper finally fought off the salty tea bag from old balls on Wednesday night. With only 3 guys on the bench the pepper stepped up and said no no to another tea bag. "we came out and put it to them, we knew we couldn't lose to them again" said nepple. "we found out who are players are tonight, with people gone for this reason and that, and a guy quiting you really find out who loves pepper hockey" said coach tellmann "we are going to have tryouts next year because i want this same result each and every night"

PEPPER FALLS APART AFTER 1

With coach tellmann out with an injury he stepped behind the bench to help out his team. The pregame speech brought the team to tears, the new warm up got the legs moving and the team talking, and the strategy was flawless....for the first period. The pepper came out as any underdog team would want too. Get up early and keep going to the net. The All Stars didn't know what hit them before they knew it, it was 4-1 and the first period was over. "after we scored the 3 goal and we were at center ice i looked up and could see panzer and skarp huffin and puffin and i thought...maybe the ice is to big for these crafty fellas, but i thought wrong" said bydal.

The second period couldn't have started any worse for the pep than it did. In the first shift the all stars scored 2 goals on two 3 on 0 to get the score to 4-3. Not that big of a deal but then andy Schneider and his large gluteus maximus (pictured above) took the game over. "he uses his body very well and shut our team down with great ass positing and puck movement" said coach T.

The third period started with the score 6-4 and ended with a final of 8-5. "we played well, but we have to learn how too put a full 60 minutes together" said nepple "coach T will look at the tape and we will look at it in practice and see what went wrong."

It looked like Coach T found his calling but after the game we talked to him and he didn't have much to say but we did ask how he was feeling. "how am i feeling, what do u mean how am i feeling....if you want to crown them then crown their asses, they are who we thought they were and we let them off the hook, i will be back next week no more bench for me....the tri-pod is back baby"

The Red Pepper has a tough matchup tonight. They play the "grand forks All Stars" at 8:15 at the REA Olympic arena. Some pepper players are getting the butterflies because they get to play in the REA but this is nothing for the all stars. "butterflies, are u kidding, i am an ex-sioux i played in the main sheet. you think the Olympic is going to give me butterflies....come on" said all start stand out Tim Skarperud

PEPPER LOSES INSPIRATIONAL LEADER IN A BARN BURNER

The pepper had a huge test on Wednesday facing the number one team in the league. the merchants have been rolling through the league like a fat kid rolling down hill. Knowing this the pepper knew they needed to play a good game and try give the merchants their first loss.

The pepper started out with their 4 goal warm up. "coach only allows us to warm up with 4 pucks, he thinks it gets us working together and gets the chatter up, which it does, he is a hockey genius" said tofte. After the warm up the pepper came out and were flying all over the ice. the merchants were able to get on the board first but lindgren answered to tie it up. From there on it was back and forth. "it was a great game, it was our best game we have played all year" said tellmann "i am proud of our guys, even though we lost we showed character" the pepper lost 4-3 in a battle but that's not all they lost.

With 5 minutes left in the third jeff tellmann was doing his patented tri-pod in front of the net. The puck went into the corner and jeff went after it and was hooked and tripped face first into the boards. When jeff hit all everyone heard was ooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch. With only a few minutes left jeff went to the bench in obvious pain, no penalty shot was awarded. In the locker room jeff was in obvious pain and went to where any one with a separated shoulder goes to get it check out..Southgate (old balls is so old they have a traveling doctor with them) Jeff got some bad news 1-2 weeks separated shoulder.

PEPPER STEPS UP IN THE 3rd

Berts trucking came out like a team that needed a win on Wednesday night. The trucks were oiled up and flying around the ice and were able to come out with a 1-0 lead. But the pepper would not have that, with goals by lindgren and bydal the pepper went into the lead. Things were looking good and then all of a sudden it was 4-2 berts. "the middle of the 1st was a good period for us, but the beginning and the end were not good, its something we need to look at on the film and get it figured out" said tellmann.

The pepper has been playing from behind all season so 4-2 was nothing. The pepper came out in the second and put more rubber on berts goalie than a fluffer in the Houston 500 flick. With all this rubber at the net the pepper was only able to tie it up going into the third. It should have been 5-4 but Bydal did his patented trip and fall in front of the net and somehow got the goalie out of position and was going to bury it for a goal but the goalie was able to poke check him right at the last second. "that really pissed me off i was on my way to the bench to have the statistician right down my goal and all of a sudden the paddle come out and poke checked me....god dam poke check" bydal said.

The third started off with the score 4-4 but houston wasn't at 500 yet so the fluffer needed more rubber. The pepper put on a clinic of their patented 4 forwards and 1 defensemen and were able to get 4 gnotes in the third and only gave up one making the final 8-5. The 8th and final goal for the pepper was the first 4 point goal in pepper history. Tofte crashed the zone and was able to give a dish to spree and spree gave a saucer to tellman and telly got the D to suck to him and gave a nice no look back hand to bydal and olay olay olay olay olaaaaaaaaaaaay olay.......olay.

A SALTY SALTY TEA BAG for the PEPPER

On behalf of the Red Pepper Chronicle let me apologize for the delayed report of the Red Pepper vs Old Balls game. With the excessive drinking after the game and turkey eating weekend it was hard to track down anyone for comments.

Last Wednesday the RP squad had a great early season test. Not only were they playing old balls and trying not to get tea bagged again, but this was going to be a great test for the RP squad to see how they play position. Well once again old balls put on a clinic of old men playing a fast game in slow motion. Old balls has a great way of slowing the game down and just passing the puck around. Finding the old guy limping down the wing and giving him a nice tape to tape pass and letting him crawl into the zone and find the high guy in the slot and score. "its a great thing to watch, all of these old men out here who can barley make it down the ice be able to play the game they love" said coach Tellmann. "there is no other way for us to play, i can't even skate, so i need to be able to hit an open guy, get to the bench and have coach kaulk give me some oxygen" said Schafer of old balls. "a team that plays great position will always beat a team that runs around, and that is what we do, we run around and give up 3-1's on a regular basis" said a disgusted nepple "i feel sorry for wilson"

That is what happened old balls came out and played great position and beat the pep 8-7. "The game wasn't that close but we made it respectable at the end so the saltiness of the tea bag wouldn't be that bad" said tofte
