SEMRAUS ABSENCE TO MUCH FOR THE EL ROCO

When the pepper came onto the ice they realized that the el roco bench was a little short. Not only that but the rocos all star chris semrau was missing. "Chris may not be the most crafty guy on the ice but he brings intimidation and heart to our team" captain skarperud said "we realized how important he is to our team tonight." The "game of the year" started off unusually for the pepper, with the rock scoring the first two goals of the game. "when the game started you could really tell they wanted a win, they had very crisp passes and were flying all over the ice" tom bryan said. But the pepper was not going to let this one get away. they answered back with a garbage goal by bydal and a very nice goal by tellmann that was set up by his linemates tofte and bydal. "the first goal was a great goal for a tubby guy like my self, i came around the net and the puck was sitting right there.....perfect" bydal said. The second period ended with the game all tied up at 2.

The second period started off with the red pepper scoring to go ahead by one. Brad lucke gave the very lighted footed joe bryan a pass up the middle and he went in and buried a back hander pass the goalie. "joe was almost a healthy scratch tonight, but i am really glad i kept him in the game, he earned himself a couple more games with his play tonight" tellmann said. The second ended with the score 4-4.

The third was a very tightly played period. The red pepper went up 5-4 with 7 minutes left with a goal by sprehe from a. smith. "when we scored that goal we could feel the win, we knew we had to just hold them off." said neppel. So with a pulled goalie and a minute left, the red pepper had multiple chances to put the game away but was unable to get the puck in the net, and with one second left on the clock, and horrible defense by MATT BYDAL, the rock was able to score a garbage goal to tie it up. "i dont know what the hell i was doing, i was at the blue line playing with my dingy when that goal was scored, i cant believe i let that happen" bydal said.

So a tie game equals a shoot out in the NHL and the GF Old timers league. "we knew they had a lot of talent to pull from, but we knew brandt could stand up to them" tofte said. And that he did, brandt allowed one goal in the shoot out and the pepper was able to win the game 6-5. "its just a huge win for our club its nice when a twins like team can beat the yankees" General Manager rob bethke said "my boys showed a lot of heart and determination and thats what this team is all about." In a post game interview with panzer the only thing he could say was "we needed semrau to keep us going, there was multiple times i wanted to put him out there to set the tone but i was unable to do so, i hope he doesnt miss anymore games."

Player of the Game.....................jake brandt

Sounds like Skarp forgot to bring his A-game if the Rock was relying on Semrau.

I think Semrau was too busy booking Clay Aiken concerts to help out his squad last week. Soft.
Coming to GF this wkd, can't wait to have a 1/2 DHDTC (mexi), no lett, heated, and a Dewski....catch a little Pepper TV.

Nothing like playing against the trap. Must be fun to play with 3 guys back. What a great defense you guys have.

fat out of shape players aren't going to battle through holding and sticks flying everywhere (tellmann). I'm not taking anything away from you guys. All i'm saying is nice defense.

Is there any truth to the trade talk that the Rock is willing to trade Semrau to you guys for 2 pucks and a water bottle? According to the Rocks GM, "if the Pepper thinks so highly of Semrau, they can have him."

Greetings Bloggers. I know some of you were wondering what has taken me so long to get a article up after such a special game. Well bloggers, I 've been doing some research. I had to delve the secretive world of hockey coaching and strategy. Why, you ask...I needed to learn what "the trap" was. It turns out the answer is as complicated as it is simple.
The Trap is a defensive tactic that typically goes unnoticed by the casual hockey fan. Although I still don't fully understand it, the trap is an advanced defense seen only in the highest levels of hockey. You will see it used quite often in the NHL( and AHL even some in the ECHL) and it is also used some at the Divsion I level.
When reached for comment Coach Tellmann didn't seem to interested. "you're asking me about my feelings on the fucking trap. Listen asshole, I've got a line of hungry customers to the fucking door and you're asking me how I feel about the trap! I'm going to give you 5 seconds to get out of here or you're going to learn firsthand about being trapped". Needless to say I got out of there.
Later, after he had served his one customer of the day and had cooled down some he was willing to talk a little about the game. "I always thought the trap was something cops did."
GFHSW: So you're saying your team didn't use the trap against the El Roco?
JT: Listen man, our team consists of an interesting mix of "half wits" and boardline retards, you are welcome to come to our next practice and try to explain your trap if you have some breathe to waste. Oh yeah... we don't practice. Never Mind.
GFHSW: Was the Roc win a season maker for the Red Pepper.
JT: Not really. To us, it was just another game. Although we don't like to look past the next game, if i had to pick a "must win" for us it would be the South Gate. Those bitches nipped us last game. That's the monkey we need to get off our back.
GFHSW: The Roc win wasn't that big of a deal?
JT: Last year it would have been. But this is a new year and a new league. To us, their just another game on our schedule. In the Whitey's Cup league they used their big name players to really stand out in a league that consisted of kids fresh out of high school and midget rejects. This new league has some real talent. You need to more than just show up to win and I think the Roc will be alright when they realize that.
GFHSW: Do you think they really missed Semrau weds. night?
JT: That's what I'm talking about. They need their big name players to show up (figuretively and literally) everynight if they want to compete at this level.
GFHSW: What are your thoughts on Quinn Fylling not showing up weds.?
JT: Who?
GFHSW: In closing what are your thoughts in general about the new league.
JT: Looking down from the top...It looks pretty good.
GFHSW: Thank you for your time
JT:...........
Well there you have it Bloggers. I put my life on the line for this article, now it's up to you to decide: Trap or No Trap. If I had to guess, this reporter would say... TRAP!

Hey Soda, Is it simply a ca-winki-dink that the pepper hasn't won a championship since you moved on or is their more to it?

There's more to it Crasher. When soda left , the Pepper started passing and quiit trying dangle so much, that's when things really fell apart. Guys like soda and GT Whalen were really the last of a dying breed, guys who really bought into the "individual" philosophy. They knew that without individuals, there was no team. For bettter or for worse that approach has gone by the wayside. Hater Out

And I heard they didn't even call Panzer for the GFC alumni game. Bina must have scouted some city league games this year.

P.S. Congrats on getting to a shoot out against the Pepper, Roc. At least you're improving. Chin up

I heard they're getting a new buzzer at the BLC. They're getting one that can't be drown out by 8 guys on a city league team. It's rated to be heard over up to 10 guys (who actually care).

Joy to da world

I'd bet the Rock would bring their A-game for a couple of cases of beer. bunch of booze hounds

That's the only reason we hesitate at all to place a "friendly" wager ( or waiver as Matt Bydal says it) on any game with the El Choke-O is there's no telling what these guys would do for a case of Frickin beer.
